In a major development, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has constituted a high-level committee to investigate the tragic Air India flight AI171 crash in Ahmedabad, which claimed 265 lives — marking the deadliest aviation disaster in Indian history.

Dreamliner, operating from Ahmedabad to London’s Gatwick Airport, crashed minutes after takeoff on June 12, claiming at least 265 lives and injuring several others.

Only after 241 passengers flying on the Air India-operated Boeing 747-8 Dreamliner aircraft died in the horrific plane crash in Ahmedabad, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) came to action after 24 hours and directed Air India to carry out additional maintenance actions on all their Boeing Dreamliner aircraft.

The passenger list for Air India Flight AI171, which crashed after takeoff from Ahmedabad, has been released. Over 230 passengers were onboard en route to London.
