The Cook County Sheriff's Office said the incident happened around 3:20 a.m. in unincorporated Arlington Heights. They received a report that a person had been shot in the face, and when they responded, they saw a man at the scene and treated him before he was taken in an ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Authorities were called to a home in the 3900 block of Galesburg Avenue early Friday, where they found a man with a gunshot wound to his face. He was taken to a hospital.
