Former Nintendo of America CEO Reggie Fils-Aimé has praised Team Asobi's PS5 hit Astro Bot as it claimed yet another Game of the Year accolade - this time at the New York Game Awards 2025.

Astro Bot’s moment in the spotlight isn’t over yet. Team Asobi picked up another major prize at the New York Game Awards 2025, and even former Nintendo boss gave them a shout-out.

Astro Bot took home the night's most significant honor during the 2025 New York Game Awards on Tuesday, January 21.

Hosting and presenting the award was former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé who paid tribute to Team Asobi's charming little title. "So I have to admit it, Astro Bot almost outdid Nintendo at its own game," Fils-Aimé said, which drew some laughs to the people in attendance.

While it missed out on the Best World award, which went to Elden Ring, Astro Bot was named Best Kids Game, won the Best Music in a Game prize, and scooped the coveted Game of the Year award. “So I have to admit it, Astro Bot almost outdid Nintendo at its own game,” Fils-Aime said, drawing laughter from some of the audience.
