Archaeologists have found the tomb of Pharaoh Thutmose II, the first ancient Egyptian tomb discovered since King Tutankhamun's. The tomb was found two miles west of the Valley of the Kings, near a corridor and entrance dating back to 2022.

The ministry of antiquities said the discovery of the tomb of Thutmose II, whose wife, Hatshepsut, took the throne after his death, was the first excavation of a royal tomb near the Valley of the Kings since 1922.

The tomb of Thutmose II, who ruled about 3,500 years ago, was discovered by an Egyptian-British team near the Valley of the Kings.
