Fire Rescue Victoria brought a house fire under control in Broadmeadows early this morning following several triple-0) calls.

Fire crews were called to the blaze at St Kilda after locals reported flames coming from a home next to a police station.

The Homicide Squad has been called after the man was found inside a Chapel Street building where there was a small fire.
