One of President Donald Trump’s most persistent legal foes is going after the Epstein files. Norm Eisen—the former White House ethics chief under former President Barack Obama and a longtime critic of Trump—has filed a sweeping Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request demanding the Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation hand over any files related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein that may reference the former president.
Sen. Markwayne Mullin repeatedly blamed Obama for the sweetheart plea deal Jeffrey Epstein got in 2008, when George W. Bush was president.
"It is now widely reported that President Trump is indeed included in the Epstein files," the ex-official said. "That makes our request for these records more urgent than ever."
In a July 27 interview on CNN’s "State of the Union ," U.S. Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., blamed Obama for the "sweetheart deal" given to Epstein, a sex offender who died in federal custody in 2019.
