Protesters gathered in parts of Maryland on Thursday to commemorate the life of civil rights activist John Lewis and to protest actions and policies from the Trump administration.

The “Good Trouble Lives On” national day of action honors the late congressman and civil rights leader John Lewis. Protests are expected to be held along streets, at court houses and other public spaces. Organizers are calling for them to be peaceful.

Under the banner of " Good Trouble ," thousands are gathering across the country to protest against the Trump Administration. “We’re taking action across the country to defend our democracy,” reads a statement on the Good Trouble website.
