The New York Yankees have signed right-hander Kenta Maeda to a minor league deal. The 37-year-old Maeda had been pitching for Triple-A Iowa, the top minor league affiliate for the Chicago Cubs, but he was released on Saturday.

The New York Yankees are reportedly discussing a "possible deal" with right-handed starting pitcher Kenta Maeda, per Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

New York has made it official, signing the Boras Corporation client to a minor league contract. Maeda has been assigned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Presumably, the Yankees would be looking to sign Maeda on a minor league deal as well.
