A snack food magnate declared himself mayor of the Village of Sea Cliff, on Long Island. The voters said otherwise.

Robert Ehrlich arrived with a crew of three men and a list of demands for Sea Cliff officials — including requiring his own office space and the resignation of all current employees.

Robert Ehrlich claims that he had used a little-known state law, the Citizen Empowerment Act, to form what he calls the "Incorporated Village of Sea Cliff Residents."
