Now, PETA says it has identified a SeaWorld "agent" in its midst. PETA believes that a California volunteer who went by the name Thomas Jones was actually a SeaWorld employee named Paul McComb.

PETA says SeaWorld seeks to exclude the PETA proposal by sending out proxy materials on April 17, just two days shy of the one-year anniversary of when SeaWorld went public.

PETA said the SeaWorld employee, using a phony name, tried to get close to PETA employees and encourage them to perform illegal acts that could discredit the group with the public.

"SeaWorld has stopped treating dolphins like surfboards and will soon stop making trainers stand on their faces in demeaning circus-style shows," PETA said on its website last week.
