DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Israel launched an expanded assault on Iran on Sunday, with direct strikes targeting its energy industry and Defense Ministry headquarters, while Tehran unleashed a fresh barrage of missiles blamed for the deaths of four people and injuries of many others.

Israel Defense Forces shared a video on social media of a surface-to-air missile launcher in Tehran being taken out.

Israel unleashed a punishing wave of strikes across the breadth of Iran on Sunday and Tehran hit back with fresh missile barrages, as both sides threatened more devastation in a conflict that appeared to be intensifying.

Dozens of people have been killed over the past three days as both countries launched a barrage of attacks and counter-attacks.

Iranian strikes carried out overnight against Israel took at least 10 lives, according to Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue service.

Israel has reportedly carried out a pre-emptive strike targeting sites in Iran, according to Israeli media outlet Channel 12. The attack comes amid heightened regional tensions, with Al Jazeera reporting loud explosions in Tehran shortly after the strike. Axios also confirmed that air raid sirens were heard across multiple locations in Israel.

Israel has tried to convince the U.S. to get involved as both Israel and Iran escalate their strikes on each other.

Three Kashmiri students sustained minor injuries in an Israeli strike at the Hujat Dost Ali Hostel in Tehran, the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) has said.
