Some groups in Utah are growing increasingly concerned after a controversial ICE traffic stop gained attention on social media.

U.S. immigration agents made “demonstrably false” statements to local police during a traffic stop last month, potentially committing a crime in the process, a Utah mayor alleged in an email urging the agency to investigate its own officers.

Millcreek Mayor Jeff Silvestrini emailed the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) expressing his concerns over what he called “unprofessional and perhaps criminal conduct” from ICE agents.
