Carolina Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton revealed Thursday that he played through a broken thumb during last Sunday's 40-9 Week 8 loss to the visiting Buffalo Bills.

And Dalton is something of a legendary folk hero in Western New York. Andy Dalton's status in Buffalo stems from Week 17 of the 2017 season. The Bills needed Dalton's Bengals to beat the Baltimore Ravens to send Buffalo to the playoffs for the first time in 17 years.

Though Green Bay has outpaced Carolina in the passing game, the Panthers have found rhythm in the run game with Rico Dowdle, who currently leads the team with 18 carries for 90 rushing yards and two scores.
