A Boeing 747-400BDSF freighter operated by charter company AirACT skidded off the runway and into the sea while attempting to land at Hong Kong airport, with four crew rescued and one ground staff member still missing.

A cargo plane has skidded off a runway at Hong Kong International Airport and landed in the sea, killing at least one person, local media have reported.

Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the crash, with weather, runway conditions, the aircraft and aircrew part of the investigation, Yiu said.
