Singer-songwriter and multi-disciplinary artist Oliver Tree once said about his hometown: ‘People are very understanding … so they welcome you to let the freak flag fly.’
Tree, who grew up in Santa Cruz and performed at Outside Lands, spoke weeks before his death about wanting money from his work to go back to artists.
Singer Oliver Tree said in a recent interview that he wouldn't leave his family "a f–king penny" if he died — while also predicting the world would appreciate his "stupid f–king songs" once he was gone.
Oliver Tree, who died on June 14, was raised in Santa Cruz, Calif.
