Many police departments for decades have had policies in place prohibiting officers from firing at vehicles to stop a fleeing suspect.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren provided the briefing. Police said the shooting happened Tuesday just after 7:30 a.m. at Rocky Hill Street and Russell Road, near the 215 beltway. The officer in the shooting was identified as Tristen Taylor, 28. Koren identified the suspect as Justin Walsh.

Portland Police tonight said that suspects shot by a Border Patrol agent were associated with the violent Tren de Aragua gang. DHS said the agent fired in self defense when one of the suspects drove a car into them.

Police have shot and killed a man wielding a sharp object in a hospital in Brooklyn. New York City police say the incident happened around 5:30 p.m.

HOUSTON — A manhunt is underway after police said an innocent woman was shot and killed on a METRO bus in the Westchase area of Houston on Wednesday. A second person was also believed to be injured in the shooting.
