The former 'Late Show' host also gave Jimmy Kimmel his precious Captain America shield.

Stephen Colbert appeared as a guest on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ on September 15, where the former late-night host shaved off his gray beard during the show.

Stephen Colbert’s 11-year run as host of the The Late Show with Stephen Colbert ended in May. But, even amid the turmoil surrounding the cancellation of his show, the television host is still a fan of taking risks.

Using the last name "Carlisle," she's become a staff writer for The Atlantic after leaving her role as an associate producer at 60 Minutes. She changed jobs in August 2026.

Stephen Colbert agreed with Jimmy Kimmel Tuesday that he seemed happier and healthier in his post-late-night career, comparing hosting to drinking a cup of poison.

“You ever written a ‘Lord of the Rings’ movie? It’s a full-time job,” Colbert said

Letterman may still hold the championship belt for the most aggressive post- Late Show beard, but Colbert has apparently found himself a whole squad of guys sporting nose neighbors. Unfortunately, they don't hand out Emmys for lip sweaters. Still, as a fellow mustache appreciator, I'm calling the Brotherhood of Beards winners anyway.
