“One thing I know about Coco is that she is a fighter. She was a fighter when she was seven. You know, when we would be out there on the court, it didn’t matter what the drill was, she was going to do the drill to the best of her ability,” Gauff’s former coach, Jewel Peterson, told Greer.

Whether you’re a fan of tennis or not, you’ve probably heard that two of Gen Z’s brightest sports stars, Coco Gauff and Carlos Alcaraz, came out on top at Roland-Garros this weekend, claiming their second and fifth Grand Slam victories, respectively.
Speaking to The Palm Beach Post in late 2024, Gauff expressed pride in both Cassidy and their cousin Courtney, who also plays college basketball. "I'm so proud of Cassidy and Courtney for how hard they work. It's inspiring to see them shine in their sport," she said.
