A wave of explosions rocked southwest Colombia on Tuesday morning, authorities said, killing several people in an attack believed to be targeting the country’s police.

A 6.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Colombia on Sunday about 72 miles east of Bogota, according to the Servicio Geológico Colombiano.

The shallow quake struck at 8:08 a.m. at a depth of 6.2 miles about 10.5 miles from Paratebueno, a city about 116 miles southeast of Bogota.
