Notre Dame has undergone coaching staff changes following its march to the College Football Playoff National Championship game, but those changes haven't scared off one of the nation's top running back recruits in the 2026 cycle.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Notre Dame has hired running backs coach Ja'Juan Seider away from Penn State to do the same job for the Irish, coach Marcus Freeman announced Tuesday. Seider had been the Nittany Lions' running backs coach since 2018 and was promoted to co-offensive coordinator in 2022 and assistant head coach in 2023.

Ja'Juan Seider, who spent seven seasons with the Nittany Lions, also held the titles of assistant head coach and co-offensive coordinator at Penn State.

Notre Dame has made it official that its new running backs coach will be Ja'Juan Seider. We learned of this move over a week ago but now it's official, as Seider is tasked with replacing Deland McCullough, who left this offseason to become the new RB coach for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Ja'Juan Seider, Penn State's former running backs coach, joins Marcus Freeman's staff at Notre Dame. Stan Drayton replaced Seider with the Nittany Lions.
