Efforts to salvage a burning cargo ship in the Arabian Sea off Kerala face challenging weather and cargo risks.

The Indian Coast Guard says an explosion and fire have been reported onboard a Singapore-flagged container ship off the coast of Kerala in southern India.

CG Dornier of the Coast Guard continues to support aerial surveillance in the incident as thick black smoke is seen emanating from the cargo vessel.
