UCLA is the latest major institution of higher learning to see promised research funding snatched away by the Trump administration, the university’s leader said in a letter to students Thursday.

UCLA has been notified that it will be losing some of its federal research funding over claims of “antisemitism and bias,” according to the school’s chancellor.

After the Trump administration suspended research funding from the University of California, Los Angeles over claims of antisemitism, Gov. Gavin Newsom called the freeze “cruel manipulation.”
