Vejmelka's rapid rise from forgotten man to five-year NHL extension is a similar story.

Utah Hockey Club goaltender Karel Vejmelka will make his ninth consecutive start in Friday's clash against the Seattle Kraken. He has posted a 5-1-2 record since becoming ever-present in the crease.

The 28-year-old was on the last season of the three-year, $8.25 million deal he inked with the Arizona Coyotes in March 2022.
