Miami police are searching for a 14-year-old girl who hasn’t been seen in more than five months, authorities confirmed Friday morning.
A man wielding a stick killed two people in Miami in an “unprovoked” attack on four homeless people, law enforcement officials said. The suspect was taken into custody following the beatings, which police say were carried out early Thursday.
It started out as the Dade County Sheriff’s Office. In 1957, it became the Dade County Public Safety Department in 1957. and then the Metro-Dade Police Department in 1981. When the county changed names to Miami-Dade in 1997, so did the police department.
