WASHINGTON (AP) — The Republican-controlled Senate on Wednesday confirmed Lee Zeldin to lead the Environmental Protection Agency, a key role to help President Donald Trump fulfill his pledge to roll back major environmental regulations, including those aimed at slowing climate change and encouraging use of electric vehicles.

WASHINGTON -- Former Long Island congressman Lee Zeldin denied that he will favor industry over the environment and declared he thinks climate change is real as he faced questions Thursday on his nomination to be the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Republican-controlled Senate on Wednesday confirmed Lee Zeldin to lead the Environmental Protection Agency, a key role to help President Donald Trump fulfill his pledge to roll back major environmental regulations, including those aimed at slowing climate change and encouraging use of electric vehicles.

The first candidate forum in decades in Elmwood Park will focus on the Elmwood Park Library Board and the School District 401 Board.

State officials completed work on draft regulations to implement Gov. Kathy Hochul’s pollution pricing and climate funding program just days before the governor chose to delay it.

The priorities of climate activists from around New York state included the NY HEAT Act and guidelines for cap-and-invest.

Forums feature candidates in La Grange Park, La Grange School District 102 and the Lyons Township High School District 204.
