A possible fireworks explosion is under investigation at a country club on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. The incident happened early Wednesday evening at the New Seabury Country Club in Mashpee. Video from a viewer sent to WBZ-TV showed a huge cloud of smoke going straight up into the sky.

An explosion ahead of a Fourth of July celebration at a Cape Cod country club has prompted officials to issue safety warnings around fireworks.

Troopers and firefighters responded to New Seabury Country Club in Mashpee around 4:45 p.m. after a vehicle that was offloading material for the fireworks show caught fire, according to Massachusetts State Police. According to the Mashpee Fire Department, a total of eight people were evaluated by medical teams after the explosion.
