A car sped through a protest in Chicago today that drew thousands to the Loop to decry Trump policies and ICE.

Thursday's protest was arranged by the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights and other organizations. Several hundred people marched from Congress Plaza to Trump Tower.

Leaders for the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights say ICE actions are impacting more communities. They invite the public to join and march with them. Loeffler, Trump’s pick to lead the Small Business Administration, owns 136,555 shares worth of the company’s stock.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson encouraged his city to protest the Trump administration’s immigration raids across the country. “I am counting on all of Chicago to resist in this moment,” said Johnson, who is a Democrat. “Whatever particular vulnerable group is being targeted today, another group will be next.”

Thousands of people nationwide have shown up at protests and rallies opposing ICE raids as unrest grows in response to the Trump administration's immigration crackdown.

City officials confirmed reports that President Trump is sending ICE tactical teams to Chicago, the same move that sparked massive protests in Los Angeles.
