China has launched a dispute at the World Trade Organization (WTO) over tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump on Chinese goods, the Geneva-based body said on Wednesday.

China’s State Administration for Market Regulation on Tuesday said it is investigating Google on suspicion of violating antitrust laws.

After a 10 percent tariff on Chinese products took effect on Tuesday, China announced retaliatory measures, including tariffs and an investigation of Google.

The world’s two largest economies did not cut a deal to avert sweeping U.S. tariffs, which came into effect after midnight. Beijing immediately retaliated.

China's finance ministry said it would impose levies of 15% for U.S. coal and 10% for crude oil, farm equipment and some cars.
