Archaeologists in Egypt have found of the tomb of King Thutmose II - the first discovery of an ancient royal tomb since King Tutankhamun's in 1922.

The historically important reveal is said to mark the end of a search for the lost tombs of the kings of ancient Egypt’s Eighteenth Dynasty — which ran from approximately 1550 BC to 1292 BC. The finding comes more than one hundred years after King Tut’s remains were discovered in 1922, CBS News reported.

The unearthing of the tomb of ancient Egyptian King Thutmose II is being described as one of the most important archaeological discoveries in recent years.
