The No. 6 seed Terps took a 10-2 halftime lead and beat Fairfield on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Penn put forth a dominant performance in the NCAA Tournament opening round, sprinting out to an 11-2 lead late in the second quarter. Despite a comeback effort from Army, the Quakers shut the door, closing out their 16-6 victory with five unanswered goals.

No. 2-seed Maryland men’s lacrosse’s schedule up to this point can be best described as a meat grinder. The 11-3 Terps have four wins against top-five ranked opponents and seven wins against teams ranked in the top 20.
