Godolphin Racing and trainer Bill Mott decided shortly after the Kentucky Derby to skip the Preakness with Sovereignty and train up to the Belmont, which he won Saturday at Saratoga.

Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty added a second leg of the Triple Crown by winning the 2025 Belmont Stakes in much the same fashion as he did the Derby on Saturday.

The 157th running of the Belmont Stakes belongs to Sovereignty! Sunday's final leg of the Triple Crown pitted Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty against Preakness Stakes champion Journalism in a 1 1/4 mile rematch of their early May showdown at Churchill Downs.
