Tiger Woods had committed last week to the event at Torrey Pines in San Diego, which was relocated due to the Los Angeles wildfires.

Tiger Woods announced Monday morning he was withdrawing from the 2025 Genesis Invitational tournament at Torrey Pines in San Diego.

Woods, the tournament host of the Genesis Invitational, said he hoped to be at Torrey Pines later in the week and “appreciate the continued kindness since my Mom’s passing.”

The tournament benefitting Tiger Woods’s foundation was moved from Los Angeles to San Diego due to the wildfires.

The golf legend, who annually hosts the tournament at Riviera Country Club, has recorded eight of his 82 PGA Tour wins at Torrey Pines, including the 2008 U.S. Open.

Tiger Woods will compete in his first PGA Tour event for seven months next week at the Genesis Invitational in San Diego.

Tiger Woods has committed to playing the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines, returning to one of his favorite venues for his first PGA Tour start since the British Open last July.

The Genesis Invitational is the only non-major tournament he has played in since he was badly injured in a car crash in February 2021 in Los Angeles.
