Kevin De Bruyne offered a heartfelt farewell to Manchester City after seeing his move to Serie A giants Napoli confirmed. The Belgium international cut a frustrated figure when he admitted City had opted against offering him a new contract, bringing an end to his decade of service at the Etihad Stadium as part of a major squad overhaul.

Kevin De Bruyne has joined Serie A champions Napoli as a free agent, the club announced on Thursday. Sources told ESPN that De Bruyne was the subject of interest from clubs in the Premier League, Germany and MLS, most notably the Chicago Fire, but opted for Napoli.

Kevin De Bruyne is set to bring down the curtain on 10 superb years at Manchester City this summer. The Belgium international confirmed his intention to leave the club back in April after not receiving a contract extension offer at the Etihad Stadium.
