Ruben Amorim has said Manchester United are “a better team” with Marcus Rashford and that they need to score more goals. The England international has missed 11 straight games since being left out of the team for the victory over Manchester City on December 15.

Rio Ferdinand has said there is "no way back" for Marcus Rashford at Manchester United after his commitment to the team was questioned by manager Ruben Amorim.

However, Rashford has unsurprisingly not made the trip to Romania for the match on Thursday night. The forward’s last appearance for United came in the Europa League, when he played for 56 minutes against Viktoria Plzen.

Manchester United have reached a broad agreement with Lecce for the transfer of Patrick Dorgu for €30million (£25.2m) plus €5m (£4.2m) in add-ons. The Serie A side had been holding out for €40m (£33.6m) but negotiations have brought the figure to below United’s aim of a total £30m package with the add-ons a split of both simple bonuses and others that are more difficult to achieve.

Manchester United are continuing to work on a deal for Patrick Dorgu before the transfer deadline, sources have told ESPN.
