Macy's is closing six locations in Texas, one of those in Houston's Almeda Mall this year as part of its previously announced "A Bold New Chapter" strategy that focuses on closing underperforming stores.

Department store operator Macy's said on Thursday it will close 66 store locations as part of a strategy it announced last year. The company said it will invest in 350 "go-forward" Macy’s locations across the country through fiscal 2026.

Macy’s has revealed the list of 66 stores that are set to close this year. However, there are several more coming by 2026. The closures come as part of the retail chain’s Bold New Chapter strategy, which was previously announced in February 2024.
