Lil Wayne extends his Carter series’ winning streak on Billboard ’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart as Tha Carter VI launches at No. 1 on the list dated June 21.

This isn't the first time Wayne has announced that he's working on Tha Carter VI album. Back in July of 2020, the New Orleans rap veteran hinted to Variety that another project was on the way.

“I’m working on Carter VI, coming soon!” he said to the crowd. Shortly after, a sign reading “ Tha Carter VI ” displayed on a large screen.
