Cincinnati Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson will open the season on the 10-day injured list with an oblique strain. Stephenson originally underwent tests for a potential back injury before an MRI revealed the oblique issue.

The Reds are sending Tyler Stephenson to get an MRI on his back to make sure nothing serious is going on, according to MLB.com's Mark Sheldon. Stephenson, 28, appeared in 138 games for Cincinnati last season and is expected to play a big role again this season.
