President Donald Trump made a number of sweeping promises during his second inaugural address, including a vow to “tariff and tax foreign countries to enrich our citizens” instead of “taxing our citizens to enrich other countries.” It was a continuation of his long-held focus on the homefront.

The president made the remarks alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He claimed earlier in the day that Gazans had "no alternative" but to leave their homes.

Trump’s proposal to relocate Palestinians out of Gaza and take over the territory was rejected by several foreign nations, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey and China.
