'The Thing' is such an underrated gem from the early 2000s. The atmosphere and tension it created were unparalleled for its time. A remastered version could really do justice to the original, especially with modern graphics and quality-of-life improvements.

The ending mystery with Childs and MacCready has always stumped me (as it most fans have been). Now, in the 2011 film, we are shown that it cannot recreate inorganic matter. This is a major plot point of the film.
