Phi Gamma Delta moved away from the pledging model of joining in favor of a modern approach to recruitment, assimilation and member development. In August 2022, the delegates to the 174th Ekklesia voted to eliminate pledging in Phi Gamma Delta, allowing us to implement the new model, Built to Lead.

Phi Gamma Delta's recognition badge reflects the black diamond and white star of the Founder's badge worn by initiates. It was originally adopted in 1910 as a tiny lapel pin for graduates to wear when the actual badge was not appropriate. Read more about the history of the Founder's badge here. The Official Seal

Phi Gamma Delta began the new century with forty-nine chapters and over 7,000 members. The Phi Gamma Delta Educational Foundation is a 501(c)3 public charity (tax ID 52-6036185), which was established in 1945. Its mission is to support Phi Gamma Delta’s educational and charitable purposes, as well as its undergraduate brothers and chapters.
