Heggerty and UFLI work amazingly well together! I do not do all parts of Heggerty, but we start our UFLI lesson with some parts. Right now we are doing beginning sound, ending sound, segmenting and blending compound words. It flows perfectly into UFLIs phonemic awareness, and I just keep the puppet going 🦔 I find the skills we learn in Heggerty - shaking for the first sound, rollercoaster for the middle, and punch up for the ending sound - REALLY help my students when it comes to writing words.
