The Baker test (1946) was an underwater nuclear explosion at Bikini Atoll during Operation Crossroads. It caused a massive water column, covered nearby ships in radioactive mist, and left the area super contaminated. It was basically a wild experiment to see how nukes would affect naval ships-and it turned out, not great!
