Did you know stag beetles fly? 🛫 Sound on! 🔊 Listen out for what sounds like a mini helicopter! This male stag beetle was spotted by Andy Waller flying off into the sunset. The sound is their big wing cases vibrating as they, quite clumsily, "soar" through the air. 🌆 Keep your eyes peeled for them on balmy warm evenings until the end of August. And don't worry! Whilst they look a little menacing with their big antlers (what are actually jaws called mandibles), they're actually friendly giants
