On this day in history, December 2, 1949, the new gymnasium (constructed with supplemental bonds for $125,000) was dedicated with a doubleheader: Powell vs. Thermopolis, followed by University of Wyoming vs. Montana State. It was the largest gymnasium in Wyoming when completed with 3,000 seats.
