Today, the Redemptorist Congregation (and all Catholic people) celebrate the Feast of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, the name given to Mother Mary whose Icon we use in our Solemn Novena. In 1866 Pope Pius IX gave the icon to the Redemptorists, asking them to "make her known." Since then, the Redemptorists always introduce the icon and the Novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help to the people wherever they do mission.
